Yixing pottery kiln red-hot from the beginning of the Han Dynasty, gray, and the original porcelain and so on, the firing of ceramics history continues today, more than 2,000 years, it can be said is the oldest kilns.Song has begun firing Yixing, popular in Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty reached the peak.
Around in Dingshu Town,Yixing, there are many old kiln sites, the oldest one was built in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), it is called " Dragon Kiln", which looks like a dragon.
In a village of Yixing, there is one live dragon kiln,kiln length of 40 meters, with 37 holes, 5 kiln door, it mainly fires all kinds of unglazed potteries,including in pots, vases.. It was built from the Ming Dynasty It has burned the Qing Dynasty, modern, and now, this is indeed rare. The enemy call it "living dragon kiln."
Another most famous kiln is the tunnel kiln, which has a big volume and when it finishes the firing, people could get into it to take out all potteries.
There are many rivers in Yixing,in the past ,the river shipment is the main way of transportation in Yixing.

All the raw materials of Yixing bonsai pots comes from natural,local mountains or hills, contains a large number of speical mud,which is the best material for making the ceramic bonsai pots.
Refined ceramic clay material is mainly carried out by machine,but some high grade potteris (such as tea pot) clay material will used to operate by hand, because people.
Before making the pot,we must process the clay.Frist we use a wood hammer to strike the clay ,this work must be done many times by craftsman.The purpose is press the clay and make some thick clay particles more exquisite. It also can make the impurities protuberant.Then we will use the tool to eliminate the protuberant impurities .Only after above processing procedures,we can use it to make the pots.
Although we use the model, but it is just only for getting the shape, 90% of works must be made by hand.
